The first thing to know about the Destiny universe is The Traveler. It is this this big white sphere that hangs low above Earth. Its origins are unknown. Originally discovered on Mars, it sparked a Golden Age of humanity that allow humans to colonize other planets within the solar system. Ancient enemy of the Traveler. Destiny 2 Trophy Guide & Roadmap
October 6, Destiny’s raids are the most challenging parts of the hit game, requiring six players level 26 or above to team up for a lengthy test of endurance. As it stands the game’s only raid so far, Vault of Glass, requires six players who know each other — rather than matching up strangers through the matchmaking system used in other areas of the game. Asked about raid matchmaking in their weekly update Bungie said:

Gamescom in Cologne we were treated to a launch trailer. With a mix of CGI and in-game footage this trailer sets up the high-octane excitement we’ve come to expect from Destiny very well. You can watch it for yourself below: Destiny 2 got a brand-new trailer at Sony’s E3 Keynote on Monday, June 12 that shows the three new classes in action and re-affirming the game’s September 6, release date.
We also learned that gamers that buy the game on Sony systems will receive an exclusive strike, ship, weapon and PVP maps. That’s a compelling reason for guardians to go for PS4 over the other systems, although PC gamers will be the only platform with 4K.
Destiny considering adding matchmaking for Raids Destiny’s ‘Vault of Glass’ Raid is currently for friends only.
By Pete Haas 3 years ago Destiny players have been asking Bungie for two big changes to matchmaking. The studio addressed both suggestions in their weekly update. The most complex, challenging content in the game is Vault of Glass , a six-player raid. Unfortunately, it’s a bit hard to actually venture into the Vault because there’s no matchmaking system in place. Bungie is sympathetic to players who wish they could be automatically teamed up with strangers.
Yet, we understand its limitations. In the recipe of a Bungie game, Matchmaking has always contributed the ingredient of a team built to play one match of competitive multiplayer. They designed Vault of Glass with tight-knit, coordinated groups in mind. However, some of the players who cleared Vault didn’t fit that description. Keep sounding off about it, and maybe someday some matchmade Fireteam mates will hear you, too.
They don’t want players to get matched up with random idiots and then find themselves wiping over and over in raids. However, the only way players will get better at raids is by doing them.
Weekly strikes in Destiny will get matchmaking after all
Bungie discussing matchmaking for Destiny’s Raid “That’s a really tricky topic Destiny’s six-person Raid, called Vault of Glass, does not feature the option for matchmaking with strangers – a controversial decision the developer took because it wanted players to plan and tackle the tougher mission with friends. At the time Bungie writer Luke Smith said he could “understand everyone’s frustration about the decision So, what’s to be done? In the latest Bungie Weekly Update community chief David “Deej” Dague said the developer was trying to work that out right now.
It’s something we helped to pioneer.

Currently the only Raid in Destiny is the Vault of Glass and by adding Raid matchmaking, more players would be able to take part. Do you think that you and a team of strangers could beat Vault of Glass? Most of the raiding parties who have emerged victorious from the Vault of Glass have sworn that one weak link would have doomed their chain. There have been other stories, of course. Strange tales have reached our ears — tales of total strangers who have banded together to see the Raid all the way through to a triumphant finale.
Keep sounding off about it, and maybe someday some matchmade Fireteam mates will hear you, too. That along with the fact that Bungie seem to think that random teams of players are less likely to complete the Raids compared to teams who know each other. Despite this though Deej has admitted that they know of players who have beaten Vault of Glass with strangers simply by messaging each other so surely Raid matchmaking would work, clearly the fan-base wants it.
In a recent Bungie Weekly update Destinys community manager Deej talked about the possibility of Raid matchmaking and you can read it here. The original source for this story is IGN and you can read it here.
During the first gameplay reveal in Los Angeles yesterday , Bungie executives took the stage to outline the substantial quality of life improvements the sequel will introduce to make this happen. From removing the need to load in and out of one area for different activities to letting players more easily group up with strangers, Bungie is going to great lengths to paint its new installment as a more thoughtful, well-meaning, and accessible video game.
On top of the grind of daily play and the ever-increasing amount of items to collect, Destiny was hobbled by befuddling design choices and maddening technical constraints. Players complained endlessly about not having enough space for all their gear and weapons, the lack of narrative and cinematic direction, and an almost Kafkaesque progression system.
Destiny spent its first year looking like an extended beta , as Bungie tweaked and changed it constantly in response to player feedback. The end result was a title that reminded players that their time just might be better spent elsewhere, creating a constant tug-of-war battle between that nagging feeling and the satisfying, dopamine rush of another new piece of loot or a hard-fought victory.
Destiny 2 is the sequel to Destiny and the second game in the Destiny series. The game released on September 6, for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and on October 24, for PC on the platform. An open beta was held for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in July, and then again in August.

You just admitted that not only did you know your lack of matchmaking was inferior, that you thought it was almost a miracle that so many people jumped through the arbitrary hoops you put in front of people. Matchmaking is critical, and you didn’t provide it. You provided it early in the game, then took it away for everything else. All the times I had to run around to find a group, only to find out they didn’t want to do that, and trying a 3rd party website, only to not be able to get anyone.
I still fully support people having the choice of fireteams. I also suggest you create ways to communicate better IN-GAME, so that people that want to do that, don’t need a 3rd party website or a huge friends list that requires you to be addicted to the game WoW style to utilize. What was wrong with Destiny 1 besides lack of content, nerfing things you grinded hella for, and switching up resources?
Well it’s the fact you knew you were creating a crappy system for raids, yet never did anything about it. I wonder how many millions they lost because a ton of people won’t even care to check out Destiny 2 because Bungie was run by morons for Destiny 1. So much promise, destroyed by utter idiots.
Destiny matchmaking for raids
If you were hoping to log-in to Destiny, fire up the game menu and open an option to instantly find a good raid team via a matchmaking tool think again; that. The Heroic Strike, destinyy showers you with. Matchmaking in destiny Matchmaking in destiny would not drop matvhmaking weapons and would be lower light level. Luckily, Argos has you covered in its Boxing Day sales with this pretty generous package. Raid matchmaking would be a disaster.
Bungie talked about this issue, and described that whilst they would like raids to be more accessible, some of the stories of players interacting with one another are a reason why matchmaking wasn’t added into the game at launch.
It also puts a checkpoint right before every Press X to Not Die moment so that, even if you fail the quicktime event, you don’t lose more than a few seconds of progress. Arkham Series has a few. Several times in predator encounters, enemies that should notice Batman don’t, either because he’s too far away, or in the middle of a special takedown. Arkham City and Batman: Arkham Origins , after using a gadget to create a platform in the water, Batman will automatically aim straight for it if you glide at it.
City featured Riddler informants that could tell Batman where Riddler trophies were hidden, as long as the informant was the last enemy taken out in any encounter. This made battles with the informants frustrating, since the player would have to avoid targeting them until they were done. Origins fixed this problem by making the informants surrender when beaten as opposed to being knocked out, so the player no longer has to beat them last.
It is an opportunity for us to reflect on the language and ideas that represented each year. So, take a stroll down memory lane to remember all of our past Word of the Year selections. Change It wasn’t trendy , funny, nor was it coined on Twitter , but we thought change told a real story about how our users defined Unlike in , change was no longer a campaign slogan.
But, the term still held a lot of weight.
Bungie has responded to widespread calls to add matchmaking to Destiny’s raids, beginning with the Vault of Glass. The studio is “discussing” it. As it stands, the six person Vault of Glass raid does not support matchmaking, a decision which has made it very difficult for some players to take on Destiny’s most interesting challenge.
For a why isn there matchmaking for raids in destiny like Destiny, its the community that really helps the game be great, including meeting random people online. Its not as big of a deal as you think it is for there to be no matchmaking for things like raids. Its rqids as big of a deal as you think it is for destiyn to be no matchmaking for things like raids. Self-promotion should be thoughtful, limited, and matchmakint well received by the community.
Where you can say ‘I want to do this. It would really suck loading into a raid with only yourself maybe one other having a mic. You do, but at least there is iin control over a group with LFG. Highly overshadowed by all the neutral or outright fun runs. I am over the age of AGE. Which I paaiid forrrr!!. The raids arn’t really matchmakinb that can be done without giid communication unless you’re with a team you know really really well.
